Practise for CPCT the way it is scored

CPCT gives 15 minutes each for English and Hindi typing and counts only correct words: 30 NWPM in English and 20 NWPM in Hindi qualify. Practising with the same scoring shows you exactly where you stand.

A simple CPCT practice routine

  • Hindi first: choose Remington GAIL (if you know Kruti Dev or a typewriter) or Inscript, and practise only that layout.
  • Full length: at least three 15-minute tests a week in each language.
  • Margin: aim for 25+ NWPM in Hindi and 35+ in English in practice.
  • Fix as you go: Backspace is allowed in CPCT; a corrected word counts as correct.
