The two SSC CHSL skill tests
SSC CHSL has two different typing-based skill tests, depending on the post you choose.

The typing test is qualifying in nature, and speed is judged on the accuracy of the passage you type.
How SSC counts mistakes
- Full mistakes: an omitted word, a wrong or extra word, a spelling error, a repeated word, an incomplete (half-typed) word.
- Half mistakes: a missing space between words, wrong capitalisation (not applied to Hindi), punctuation errors, transposed words.
How to prepare
- Practise full 10- and 15-minute passages without word highlighting, as in the exam.
- Keep accuracy first — every full mistake costs a whole word.
- For Hindi, pick one layout (Remington GAIL, Kruti Dev or Inscript) and stay with it.
