1. Introduction

Durga Typing (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates this typing practice platform from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. This policy describes what information we collect when you use the service, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

By using our services you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

You can practice and take typing tests without an account, and without giving us any personal information. If you register, we collect:

• Account details — your name, email address, and a cryptographically hashed password. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google instead of a password.
• Typing results — speed (WPM), accuracy, error logs, weak-key data, and test history, used to build your progress reports.
• Plan status — whether you are on Free, Trial, or Pro, and when a trial or paid period expires, used to decide which features are available to you.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, visit timestamps, and anonymous session identifiers stored in cookies.

Guest results are kept only in your own browser's local storage. They never reach our servers, and clearing your browser data removes them permanently.

3. Payments

All transactions are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Card numbers, bank details, and other payment instrument data are handled entirely by Razorpay — we never receive or store them.

What we do store against your account is the Razorpay order and payment identifier, the amount, and the plan purchased, so that we can verify your access and handle any refund request.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the data above only to:

• Deliver your dashboard, typing history, and progress analysis.
• Decide which features your current plan gives you access to.
• Verify payments processed through Razorpay.
• Diagnose technical problems and improve the platform.
• Send account, security, and billing emails. Transactional email is sent through Resend from [email protected].

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

5. Cookies & Analytics

• Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember which experience — global or India — you are using. These cannot be disabled.
• Preference cookies remember your theme and language.

When you are signed in — including on a free account — the global site loads no analytics or advertising scripts, so no third-party tracking cookies are set.

Signed-out visitors may be shown Google AdSense ads to keep the free experience running. AdSense loads only after you agree on the consent bar and may then set advertising cookies; choose “Decline” to keep browsing without them. Signing in removes ads entirely.

Our India site at durgatyping.com/en does use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymised usage data. If you follow a link there, those apply — you can opt out by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

6. Where Your Data Is Held

Durga Typing is an Indian service. Our database and application servers, and the processors we rely on — Razorpay for payments and Resend for email — may store and process your information in India and other countries.

If you use the service from outside India, you are transferring your information to India, where data protection law differs from your own. Please do not register if you are not comfortable with that.

7. Security

Passwords are stored using cryptographic hashing, all traffic is encrypted over SSL/TLS (HTTPS), and database access is restricted.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account we permanently erase your personal data within 30 days.

Payment records may be retained for up to 5 years where Indian tax and accounting law requires it, even after account deletion.

9. Your Rights

Whatever country you use the service from, you can:

• View and update your profile information at any time from your account settings.
• Request a copy of your account details and typing statistics.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
• Ask us to delete your account and all associated personal data.

Email [email protected] to exercise any of these. We verify that the request comes from the account's own email address, and respond within 30 days.

10. Children

Durga Typing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has registered, write to us and we will remove the account.
