Typing Test Without Backspace
Practise typing with Backspace disabled, the way some government typing exams run. Build first-time accuracy in English, Kruti Dev, Remington GAIL and Inscript.
Why practise without Backspace?
Some recruitment typing tests switch Backspace off, so every key you press stays. Even where it is allowed (CPCT, for example, permits corrections), relying on it costs time. Practising with Backspace disabled trains you to slow down just enough to be right the first time.
How to train
- Turn on "Disable Backspace" in your typing settings or pick an exam preset that blocks it
- Start 10–15% slower than your normal speed and hold accuracy above 95%
- Read one word ahead instead of looking at the word you are typing
- After each run, drill the weak keys shown in your result
Always check the notification of your own exam — Backspace rules differ from one recruitment to another.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Backspace allowed in the CPCT typing test?
Yes. CPCT uses the unrestricted type, in which typed text can be modified and deleted.
How do I improve accuracy without Backspace?
Type slightly below your top speed, read one word ahead, and drill your weak keys after every test.
